Latest Google Toolbar includes translator, spell checker, map service.
Search engine firm Google has released the latest version of its
toolbar, a browser plug-in that allows users to access various Google
tools without the need to navigate to the Google homepage.
The Google Toolbar 3 now includes a spell checker, a translator and map links.
The spell checker lets websurfers to fill in online application forms,
comment boxes, webmail or other fields accessible via an internet
browser, and correct the spelling in the same way that word processor
can.
The toolbar also offers Autolink, a tool that automatically links
addresses listed on web sites to an online map. This service is only
available in the US currently.
Autolink also links package tracking numbers to sites that contain the
package's delivery status. Pages that contain publication ISBN numbers
now also automatically link to Amazon.com, a feature that has come
under criticism from competing online retailers.
The translator tool allows users to translate individual words on
English-language webites into French, Italian, German, Spanish, Chinese
(simplified and traditional), Japanese, or Korean. A user hovers over
the word and its translation is then displayed. |
