Search Engine Google's Gene Project Faces Criticism PDF Print E-mail

Google Inc. with several distinguished scientists began working to make information on human genes available online. “The Google Story”, a book profiling the search engine giant by David Wise, states that the Gene project will speed up the pace of genetic and medical researches that could immensely improve future medical care.

Recorded and provided by the National Institute of Health and geneticist Craig David, Google Inc. has already accessed approximately 30,000 sets of human genes.

“The project is something geneticists have wanted to do for generations,” states Venter on his interview on The Google Story. “We need to use the largest computers in the world. And by working with Google, we are trying to characterize all the gees on the planet and understand their evolutionary development,” he added.
